Welcome to season 2012. In particular I would like to welcome every new player and their families, many of whom have graduated from our Kew Rovers Auskick program. This year there could be as many as 18 teams from under 9's (Tackers) to our Under 17's (Colts), under 12 girls and youth girls' teams. Participation in both youth girls and women's football is soaring and I am delighted that Kew Rovers is the only club in Boroondarra to have both an all youth and under girls 12 teams.

Fundamentally, Kew Rovers is a not for profit organisation who without the support of sponsorship would struggle to exist. During the off season the committee has worked tirelessly to make sure that this season will be better than ever. Subtle improvements have been made to our website including a link to our honour boards which you would have noticed in our club rooms, we have a new look for our colt's team and at long last, a tipping competition for all players from Auskick upwards which you can register on line.

For some, particularly the older players, preseason training has already commenced. For the rest, you will shortly be contacted by your coach outlining what days you will be expected to train and where – as is the practice of the council, to ensure our grounds are in peak condition to withstand the rigours of an entire season, we will only have limited access to Stradbroke Park prior to the commencement of round 1.

I am really looking forward to meeting you all at our family day BBQ . This is one of the few events on our calendar when the entire club comes together as one big family, see you there.
