Under 12 Girls
Kew Rovers is excited to announce that it has become part of the inaugural EFL Girls under 12 competition and with still 2 games to go, it is not too late to join and get a taste of what should be a huge year next season.
The competition has been developed to accommodate more than 80 girls who registered an interest playing in a girls football team. Since then, more than 100 girls have signed on to be part of the EFLGirls 2011 competition. So please pass this on to anybody you might know who could be interested.
Koonung Reserve, home of the Nunawading Lions FC will be hosting this competition which is to be played over five weeks between Nunawading, Chirnside Park, East Burwood, Ferntree Gully and Kew Rovers.
Two matches will be played each Sunday morning at 9:30am and 10:45am respectively with teams comprised of 15 a side, primarily made up of 9-11 year old girls. Games of 4 x 15-minute quarters will be played on a reduced-size ground with modified rules to accommodate a range of ages and abilities, while encouraging skill development, introducing technical and tactical aspects of the game and providing a safe and enjoyable environment for young girls to get involved in playing football.
